Record your own voice

Voxdub has a built-in recorder to dub your lines with your own voice, right on the rythmo band.

Record a line

  1. Select the line to dub.
  2. Start recording (the recorder's Record button, or the ⌘ + K shortcut). Your browser may ask permission to access the microphone: allow it.
  3. A countdown (pre-roll) can precede the recording. The video then plays over the line, and recording stops automatically at the end of the segment.

The ⌘ + K shortcut starts and stops recording.

After recording

The take is attached to the line (and its character) and saved into the project. You can play it back, then re-record if needed.

Tips

  • Use headphones so the video's sound isn't picked up by the mic.
  • Work in named loops (see the rythmo band tools) to organize your recording sessions.
  • You can mix recordings and AI voices in the same project.

If the editor gets slow after a long recording session, see Browsers and performance.
